I am not available to schedule new clients until summer of 2023.

Important Practice Information During Denmark’s Covid-19 Outbreak

I can still help you with breastfeeding.

As I am a healthcare provider, if you are having breastfeeding issues and need to be seen urgently, I can still come to you during Denmark’s effort at social distancing.

Home Vists and Virtual Appointments

To protect my clients and my family, I am currently limiting my in-person practice to one home visit per workday. Some initial appointments and many follow-up appointments can often be done virtually.

Prenatal appointments and all classes are only being held virtually for the time being.

Some situations require that we meet in-person for the best care, and some we may handle entirely virtually. If you are uncertain whether your situation is one that requires an in-person appointment, call or text me at 53 53 85 73 so that we may discuss it. I will get back to you within one business day.

There are limitations to virtual appointments compared to in-person appointments, but they still allow us to gather data so that I can provide you with helpful recommendations so that you can feed successfully and comfortably.

Limitations for Health & Safety

I can do only virtual appointments for any family where:

  • a resident in the home has been diagnosed with Covid-19;
  • a resident in the home has been told to self-quarantine due to suspicion of having contracted Covid-19;
  • someone in the household has a fever of 38 degrees Celsius (100.5 F): The World Health Organization is reporting 90% of positive Covid-19 patients spike a high fever as one of their earliest symptoms. If your family has anyone in the home running a fever of 38 degrees Celsius (100.5 Fahrenheit) or higher, we can only schedule virtual support until the fever has resolved for 48 hours; or
  • someone in the household has a dry cough of unknown origin: The World Health Organization is also reporting that 67% of positive Covid-19 patients have a dry cough as one of their earliest symptoms. If your family has anyone with a dry cough of unknown origin, we can only schedule virtual support until the cough has resolved for 48 hours.

In these situations, you may request a virtual appointment via video conferencing.

If I discover at an in-person appointment that a family member has a fever or a dry cough of unknown origin, I reserve the right to cancel the appointment immediately. In that case, the full fee is still due.

How I provide care for you safely in this outbreak:

For home visits, I will travel to you via car rather than public transportation so that I do not risk getting contaminated during transit.

IBCLCs are careful to provide hygienic care for clients even under normal conditions. At the start of our appointment, as always, I will wash my hands thoroughly, and I will wash them again as the need may rise. I will wear disposable medical gloves whenever we are having physical contact during exams. I will clean all my reusable equipment (neonatal scale, iPad, etc.) with an antiviral solution between clients.

If anyone in my family is running a fever of 38 degrees Celsius or higher, I will not schedule clients until the whole family is fever-free for 48 hours.

If any of my family members develop a dry cough of unknown origin, I will not schedule any clients until the family is free of the cough for 48 hours.

If I am diagnosed with Covid-19, I will close my practice until I am no longer contagious.

If we are careful, we can work together to get breastfeeding on track for you without putting any of us at greater risk of illness.
